About HalfStack

Building an event, marketing online, and selling tickets should be accessible. It should be painless. For music fans and music makers alike.

The story

I'm a music fan and a musician. I love going out to shows and being so close to the artists I can see their movements and feel their decisions. These are the best shows. Some nights are packed, the bands are great and the mood is electric.

Musicians and fans both live for those nights. But I've bought tickets from smaller promoters, and they deliver, but it's a janky, multiple-site experience.

Last year I got an in-depth look at how these shows run. Promoters can't afford a developer to build a $50k website to do the marketing, event management, and ticket sales—so they need to rely on WordPress sites with free addons and slow load speeds. They use event creation sites that rob them of their traffic and ticketing sites that throw an extra fee on top of ticket sales. While that seems like a DIY experience, it's killing their online presence outside of social media before they even get off the ground.

I felt like I needed to do something about it. So I took my computer programming and small business marketing experience and learned about modern web development. I completed a full-stack developer course and got to work.

This is how HalfStack was born. It's not just for bands that tour and venues that put on great shows and promoters who push killer lineups. It's for the fans too.

Together, we can fill rooms.

What we believe

User Experience is everything

If it's hard to use, it's broken. If fans can't find your show, your site failed. If you can't update from your phone, we failed. Everything we build starts with: "Will this actually make their life easier?"
